El Torero #Spanish #Tapas restaurant in #Newcastle-upon-Tyne is excellent. In the day time three tapas are £10.95, and they're not small portions either. Definitely recommended! #food #foodporn #albondigas #meatballs #tuna #salad #paella #potato #patatas #travel #tourism #tourist #leisure #life #restaurant #Northumberland

The '#Rolex #building' at #Newcastle-upon-Tyne, #England. This impressive building on Blackett Street was commissioned by Thomas Cooke who asked architect, James Cackett, to "design a new building of elegant proportions". Northern Goldsmiths was started in 1892 by Thomas Cooke. In 1932 the Company installed the golden clocks each of them finished in 24ct gold leaf, they are over fourteen and a half feet in height and weigh one and a half tons. The clock is surmounted by a "life size" golden lady, based on the figure of Venus, whose outstretched arms symbolise progress. #IgersNewcastle #Northumberland #clock #watch #architecture #lights #decor #design #travel #tourism #tourist #history #culture

I snapped this photo of a #Jet2 #Boeing #737 taking off from #Leeds Bradford #Airport back in September 2012. It was a lucky light and #weather shot. I film and photograph around #LBA regularly, as I live only a couple of miles away. The airport is the highest altitude airport in #England, and the weather effects it greatly, particularly the #wind. I filmed up there today as #Storm #Henry was putting some fierce #crosswinds out across the #runway. The film I made shows just how skilled the #pilots are taking off and landing in such conditions, you can see it here: https://youtu.be/AmN6A2SYctU . #flying #aviation #travel #tourism #tourist #transport #IGersLeeds #sun #silhouette #cloud #farm #field #beautiful #YouTube

Storm Henry Crosswind Take-off & Landings at Leeds Bradford Airport, UK ...

Leeds Bradford Airport is located at Yeadon, in the City of Leeds
Metropolitan District in West Yorkshire, England, 6 nautical miles (11 km; 6.9
mi) northwest of Leeds city centre. The airport is also the highest in England
at an elevation of 681 ft (208 m). To read more about Leeds Bradford Airport,

Storm Henry was named over the past weekend, with severe gales forecast
in places late on Monday 1st into Tuesday 2nd February, with gusts of up to 89
mph recorded in Scotland. To read more about Storm Henry, click here:

.

This film features several aircraft taking off and landing into
crosswinds on Leeds bradford Airport's runway 32 between 14:45 and 15:45 on
Tuesday 2nd February, 2016. The wind effect is most apparent upon those
aircraft which are landing and are having to fly with their noses 45 degrees
into the wind to counteract the crosswind effect. This manoeuvre requires much
skill  on behalf of the pilots and
is known as 'crabbing'. This film is a testimony to the great skills exhibited
by the pilots and crew of the aircraft at Leeds Bradford Airport today.

Featured flights in the film are as follows: British Airways BA1343 to
London Heathrow; Jet2 repositioning EXS32E from Edinburgh; Ryanair FR2333 from
Krakow; Naljets private business jet, unknown destination; Aer Lingus EI3394
from Dublin; FlyBE BE735 from Belfast City; and Jet2 LS347 to Dusseldorf.

Featured aircraft are: Airbus A320, Boeing 737, Cessna Citation Excel,
ATR 72-600, and a Bombardier Dash-8 Q400.

A First Choice #Airbus #A320 flying at 20,000 feet over Southern #France, I took the photo from a #Jet2 #Boeing #757 flying at 30,000 feet. I was en-route to Malaga from Leeds in October 2009, and this was a lucky shot! The blur is because of the movement and high level of zoom. #aviation #plane #aeroplane #flying #airplane #FirstChoice #travel #tourist #tourism #leisure #life #adventure #explore #seetheworld
