Darfield, Barnsley, South Yorkshire, England - 30th June, 2014

http://ift.tt/1qsJ0ju Darfield is a former pit village within the Metropolitan Borough of Barnsley, South Yorkshire, England. Historically part of the West Riding of Yorkshire, it lies 5 miles (8.0 km) east of the town of Barnsley. This is a short film featuring views around the village, it is neither in depth or detail, as my time there was limited, but it does feature views of the old Darfield Foulstone School Playing Field, which has been left to go largely fallow and looks quite a mess. Rumours are that this will become a new 220 house estate. Next views are by the Upperwood School which is also overgrown, and then the Co-op which was once The Longbow pub. Then views are of the badly overgrown Inkerman Fields, which again the council has left to go fallow, they look a mess to me. After this point views are taken from a car along some of the streets in Darfield and Low Valley. I will return to Darfield and make a longer and more detailed video, but as this was a very short visit, I didn't the chance on this occasion.
